DESIGN+LIFE Interconnessioni, an international symposium organized by the University of Milan, Italy, will be held at the auditorium of the National Art Center, Tokyo.
Italy and Japan. Since the 1960s, the creativity of both countries has drawn the two of them together through design, fusing into one and creating new art.
At the international symposium "JAPAN DESIGN: Art Beyond Borders" held in October 2022 at the University of Milan in Italy, a discussion was held between both Italian and Japanese designers from different generations. We made a variety of discoveries by discussing lifestyle changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and other global issues, including design perspectives cultivated from each designer's career. This event will be a spin-off of that.
The participating designers are deeply rooted in the cultures and environments of their own home countries, and regard the world and its many foreign cultures with curiosity and admiration. Their work is not only an example of a successful career but also a joining of life and design in the sense of designing the self.
Please enjoy listening to the raw opinions of the symposium's internationally active designers.
